Janis Hansen

Based in Ojai since 1988, Janis Hansen is a passionate artist, teacher, and gallery owner who has been inspiring creativity in her community for over 25 years. With a background in culinary arts as a pastry chef, Janis brings her artistic flair to everything she touches—from wedding cakes to large-scale sculptures.

A self-taught and endlessly inventive artist, Janis has collaborated with landscape architects and metal artists to create indoor and outdoor works for clients throughout Ojai and Montecito. Since 2002, she has been teaching art classes for both adults and children, offering instruction in stained glass and tile mosaic, window painting, clay, drawing, and painting in oil, acrylic, and watercolor.
